BSA Assistant - Operations

Assists direct supervisor and other department staff in all daily job functions, keeps records and executes administrative policies in conjunction with banking policy by performing the essential duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly system reports pertaining to BSA related transactions and customer information (CIP). Perform appropriate research, investigate and evaluate for further processing as needed.
  • CIP – ensure customer identification information is in accordance with BSA requirements and adequately documented.
  • OFAC – ensure customer/non-customer names have been matched against current OFAC listings in accordance with BSA requirements and adequately documented.
  • Review/validate transaction and customer information submitted to BSA software (BAM) from core system ensuring accuracy and completeness. Identify and obtain missing or incomplete information within established timeframes.
  • Monitor transactions and customer information for suspicious and/or illegal activity.
  • Receive and process all currency transaction reports (CTR). Examine them for accuracy and submit completed forms via efile to FinCEN/IRS within established timeframes.
  • Receive, review, assign and process all external information requests such as writs, subpoenas and warrants. Coordinate activities externally with law enforcement agencies and legal representatives and internally with deposit/loan operations and risk management.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two year college or technical school.  General knowledge of BSA regulations is required.  Six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
